I love to fish and in a country surrounded by water, I'm in heaven. On the one side, we have lots of fish - some as big as me. On the other, I have scars all over my shins from stumbling over giant gold nuggets.

It's a good life down under. Come on by for a visit, Sue. Bring the family. Enjoy.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hello Sue...Been to Oz in 2005, and met and detected (a local school) with Pete from Townsville...I would love to go back and do some nugget hunting or to the outback with Pete as he takes leave from the Army and heads out for a few days. But we enjoyed our trip downunder and for 17 days we toured your great and beautiful country (well, along the outer rim that is). But the Rock was beautiful in it's own right. And even Alice Springs...
Come over to the States and my wife and I would be happy to show you around New York.
Take care,Jim

Australia has a lot to offer besides gold - opals, Aboriginal rock art, the reef plus Tasmania and New Zealand is near. Mmmm

Forgot to mention, we also traveled to NZ once we left Australia. This trip was my gift from my company when I retired. The President of the company asked me, once I retired, where in this big world would I like to go to. With missing a beat, I said Australia and New Zealand...So he gave me two tickets, all expenses paid for 21 days...
Jim
PS: I just purchased the Minelab GPX5000...I plan on doing some nugget hunting out in Arizona and Montana...Time will tell.
