Bounty Hunter Land Star

Hello everyone,

I was doing a Google search for 'free drywasher plans' and stumbled upon this site. I'm an avid prospector normally using pans, sluices, power sluice and the like. I had a popular business in Oregon (oregongoldadventures.com) where I taught people how to read a river, locate and extract gold and use a gold pan and other 'wet' methods.

I recently moved to Arizona so now I have to completely restructure my methods to 'dry' techniques. At least I'll be able to put my  Detecting to more use. I'm not terribly experienced with the detector so any hints/tips from all you guru's would be greatly appreciated. I have a Bounty Hunter Land Star, a fairly decent unit but I need more hands-on experience. Although I've become an expert at detecting bottle caps, pull tabs, metal cans and other varieties of flotsam and jetsum.

I have a recirculating power-sluice which I will definitely use in the desert but I'm also considering building a drywasher for when I cant or don't what to haul my own water. I live in the Northwest portion of AZ. There's lots of desert and not much in the way of water outside the Colorado River area.

Anyway, I'm glad to be a new member of this site and if anyone has some useful advice for me it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Mark

Howdy, Mark.   Welcome from the Valley of the Sun.   There are a couple of good posts on dry washers here on THunting.com.   Just use the search function at the top right corner (and make sure you search entire forum)

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
