I wouldn't mind spending a year or two in the Port Orchard area, but my heart belongs to Texas (first choice the Hill Country, second choice the Piney Woods)

I agree: Best to go together when you start with two and want to stay that way. That's how we put in our 40 years so far. Affirmative on the humidity some places. San Antonio, Austin and the Hill Country aren't bad but watch the heat. You've got to like scrub and desert to go any further West. Definitely out of the humidity going West. I'll try your posting suggestions, Thanks. If it doesn't work... it won't surprise my wife.  Grin

Welcome to the forum Ed. Our kids are gone to but I sure try to get the grandkids interested and they are. Nothing like seeing there little eyes lite up when they find that half dollar I threw out there the other day. Keeps um hunting!!!

Me...well guess you could kind of say I like it all.  Precious metals, coins, tokens, artifacts,  on and on. Grin  Really enjoy the stories I get to see as well as all the interesting people that this great hobby has allowed me to meet.  For me I can find no better activity as well as no better way to stay connected with the past.  Every recovery saves a piece of the past and every item recovered has it's own unique story to tell.

I totally agree. I'm just wrapping my mind around MD and Thunting so gold helps me focus and stay motivated. Dad was a World History teacher (among other things) and consequently I have an eye to the long view/big picture. I grew up with a strong love of precious gems and geology/mineralogy. Life had other ideas so I'm just getting around to it. -- Ed
