I think the previous owner of my Garrett Deepseeker ADS machine was fiddling with the battery power connector.

Anyone care to share what wiring is correct for this machine?

Does anyone have schematics for this Garrett ADS Deepseeker metal detector?

In that model, the battery tray, or more specifically the connector, is the most likely cause of failure so I'd look at that as a blessing in disguise. The connectors are made by Amp Corporation and can easily be replaced. I answered this question for you in another thread along with other advice on the machine. I love mine and recommend you pursue the repair of yours.

I have also been looking for a schematic of this machine for repair purposes (not now, but future repairs if necessary) and hoped that Garrett would eventually release it but discussions with them have been negative on the issue. They rightfully state that some of the technology used in that machine is still kept confidential. That's understandable.

I will keep working on it and see what happens: golddigger1950: would you take a picture of the battery connector so I can make sure the wiring is correct?

Thanks!

Mate, there is no wiring to the battery tray. It's a connector on the board and one on the battery tray.

Is this some sort of quiz? Did I pass?

Two of the six batteries in the tray go to the switch +.....
Neg to Ground.

The other four batteries + to the Switch Neg to the Pin 4 of LM358.

Have fun.

Hello There are four connections out of the six being used. From the bottom 1=Red Positive,2=Brown Positive,3= Nil,4=Black Negative,5=Orange Negative 6= Nil. There are 9,18.27.and 36 volts but because we have two Nils .We are only getting 36 volts from 1=Red Positive and 4= Black Negative that's to feed the circuit and marked in the tray 1-1-1-1 four nine volt batteries in series. And 2=Brown Positive and 5=Orange Negative to give you nine volts with two batteries in parallel marked in the tray 2-2 to feed the audio.Hope this helps and the pics to follow with. [waveing]I forgot to mention that I have fixed several Garrett's Deep-seeker Ads and was fortunate to find and use this schematic that was very useful some models have some I.C's or Transistors with different numbers, but they do the same and are only equivalents. The later models Master Hunter Ads 1.2.and three with the l.e.d's to show you what mode you are in.We are not so lucky since they blank or painted the numbers of the I.C.'S so you could not copy their idea.So they are harder to find out the replacements. They copy Minelab since they did not make any models since the beginning with out blanking or painting their I.C's components .Any way here is one of the few schematics floating around.Showing the power source and the rest.HAVE FUN Teach
