New to this site. Looking at getting into metal detecting. Wanting to build my own detector so looking some ideas on how to do so.

Hi Shaggy.   Welcome to THunting.com.   We have a pretty active set of Tech boards here that you might want to check out.   Several of the members who hang out there have been pretty successful with their self-built detectors.
