gambol1, they were recently bought by someone who immediately realized that the old site was getting hacked regularly.  If you know anything about internet security it's that the internet doesn't have any anymore.  So, the sites have to develop or buy security to ensure they don't get hacked.  The owners opted to replace the format in the original site as it would have been a nightmare to work through the programming to get security up to speed.  The new format is completely customizable, but it is a little difficult to navigate and get used to.  They're working hard to please the people still there, but you get someone like my Dad who doesn't know much about computers and it's too much of a headache.  A lot of oldtimers on T-Net are quitting as well, almost daily.  It's really sad to see them go, but I think the site will survive as there seems to be enough staying on working through the changes.  I'll probably stay on for a time, but my time on the site has always been limited.  I'm drafting a letter to my Dad bringing him to this site as I know he likes to get on and discuss/share his finds of the week.

Tom, I understand. I don't take change very well either. As for security. I haven't given it much thought but I'd guess that low budget sites that can't afford a lot of sophisticated security would be easy to hack. I know this site has had some attacks lately. Occasionally I'm redirected or denied service to this site. Anyway It has been working well enough for me for the last 2 years and I hope it continues. Amen

I hope so too. This site seems to be pretty easy to navigate, so maybe we'll see some of those folks come over here. I sent my Dad a link to this site, so maybe he will come over and check it out.
