No no detector yet. Like I say, I'm still pretty green in all this but history has always amazed me so I feel it's the right hobby to get into. I can find out about history the same time I am digging it up. Smiley It's great to know there is good help here if I need it, cause I probably will, lol. Smiley

LOL first thing you're going to need is a good detector. But don't be hasty to get one, here is a tip, first you make a budget then find the best that you can afford once you think that you have found what you are looking for come to the forum and post your info in this way the guys will be able to point you in the right direction in getting what you need.

Sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the tip. I'll grab one this spring as I don't see myself doing a whole lot in the winter. Especially diving in cold water for the one treasure I have been looking at.  Wink

our forum does have a 'for sale' thread - you can read up on those units available, and perhaps get one for a great price rather than full-retail. Perhaps you want to start with something in the lower price-range at first, then decide if this is right for you, and upgrade later. That seems to be the trend here for most. Also, I've purchased my MD from a great online company which comes highly recommended from this forum and it's called KellyCo. They have all the MD's models/styles that you may be looking for. Not sure if she's still on here, but there used to be a rep that's from their store - that would come on the forum and chat with us sorry excuses for human beings! HA  Wink
I forgot what her forum ID is, but she seemed pretty knowledgable on the subject.
