i'm an excal2 fan,used in it both rivers and beaches Great Great but it comes down to personel perferrence and $$$$

Hey, gntleknight.......welcome from arid Arizona.    Since GD and bomber have already given you could responses the only thing I'll add is spend sometime scanning through the posts in our Beach and Shallow Water board.   You'll find some good information there to help you.

Welcome from New Mexico!    What they said.  LOL!   Around here we use PI detectors for Gold.   No too many beaches with water here.
