Thanks everyone!
I've been sending out emails to local towns trying to find out the best places to go. Sent about 40 or so emails only got back two so far but its a start. another few inches forecast for the next day or so. Got plenty of time to research.

Hello, and Welcome to the forum from Utah!
There are tons of places/resource to check out..
1) City Parks & other public lands.
2) Don't do State Parks - Many states have special rules about no metal detecting in them.
3) Get permission on all private property.
4) Check out abandoned homes - who the owner is, maybe you need to contact the city on this? Check into if the house was built before 1964 - more chances of possibly silver may have been dropped by construction workers building the house??
5) New construction in town? Sometimes the city posts public announcements where they have to dig up the street to make way for new construction - under the old pavement could be some pretty good finds possibly.
