Hi everyone,
My name is Amelia and I'm 24 years old.  I am leaving to Ontario Canada tomorrow for two weeks and would really appreciate any advice on rockhounding in the area of Chapleau and Aubrey Falls.  I am particularly interested in gold, copper or silver in these areas, but if there are other minerals including non-minerals that would be great also.  I'm excited to go to a beautiful and quiet setting for photography, fishing, swimming, and hopefully rockhunting as well.  Any advice as to areas, techniques, and equipment would be very helpful.  I do own a Pioneer EX metal detector, but this is my first time using it so I am slightly apprehensive. I have done some research, but I'm hoping someone can enlighten me a little more.  Thanks so much, and I'm looking forward to getting to meet you all!!

Welcome from Arizona.

Normally I'd move your post to the Canada discussion board, but given the fact your questions cover more than just Canada (i.e. techniques and tips on a variety of topics) and given the fact you're leaving on your trip in 2 weeks, I'm going to leave your post here.   That means you're going to have a whole bunch of people just say "Hi",  but you'll also have folks giving you suggestion on some of those topics.

In the meantime, I suggest you scan down or list of boards and read some of the posts related to your interests.

Welcome, the pioneer is super easy to use. I recently got hooked using a borrowed pioneer, and yesterday I just bought an omega, I can hardly wait for it to arrive. Happy hunting
