Hi, everyone.  I'm Paul, from Michigan.  I'm interested in history and knowing more about the real Jesse James.  I've not yet tried my hand at metal detecting....  Perhaps someone would suggest an introductory model detector and a starting point for this hobby?  Good day to all!  Paul of Mich.

Hello Paul......welcome from Arizona.
Seldom's not trying to skirt the question.   Choosing a metal detector is like choosing a car or a camera---a lot of times it comes down to personal preferences and how it "feels".   If you don't get a lot of hits on "beginner detector", try "best detector".    A lot is going to depend upon how much you want to spend, whether you're one of those people who have to have new or one of those people who actually prefer to buy used, where you will primarily be searching, and what you mostly intend to search for.....but all that is explained in some of the posts you'll find when you do the search.
