Building my own

I am an Electrical Engineer, and wanted to play with a known metal detector design before I design my own.

What are the key features experienced users of metal detectors want want in a design?

Want features are in the high end units you really like?

Thanks,
Don

use that machine long enough to really get to know it, and the biggest change you'll probably want to make to it is to reduce the weight.  Smiley

Welcome to the group.....hope to hear from you often.

Welcome from a semi-retired EE from Australia! I specialized in embedded control and have a few metal detector design projects in the works all the time these days. Here's an interesting thread for you:

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
