Hi to all from Pompano Beach, Fl.  This is my first post, so excuse me if i make any mistakes.  I bought an Ace 250 and received it yesterday and have never used a detector ever. I plan to use it for the first time on Monday in dry sand at the beach at factory settings. I, also hope to learn a lot of tips from this forum. Thanks for letting me join.

Welcome from Arizona.

Don't worry about mistakes.  We all make them from time to time.   some of us learn from them and some of us don't.  most of us learn from our mistakes some of the time....and other peoples mistakes more rarely.

The nice thing about this site is you have plenty of opportunities to learn from the successes and failures of others.  I would suggest you read your manual carefully before you take that Ace250 out.  Also do a google search for Ace 250 videos.   There are a whole lot of very helpful videos out there that you can access for free.

Be patient and don't get discouraged.   If you find a super nice ring, don't jump up and down on the beach and show it to everyone and DON'T expect it to happen every time you go out.   And if all you find is pop tops and nails---hey, everyone has days like that.

So join in and start reading and sharing.

Just remember one thing when you find a target cross it both ways north to south then east to west, if the target rings true each way it is probably a coin or ring. If it has a crackly sound or no sound at all it is probably junk.

To get a feeling dig everything for a while to coincide the sounds with the object retrieved.
