Garrett Ace 350

Hello everyone. A short intro to me.

I am new to the metal detecting hobby.  I will be purchasing my first MD in the next few weeks after years of interest but lack of family support. Now that I have the family support I will be taking on this hobby in full force.  I love doing research so I have been endlessly researching makes and models as well as locations to detect around Spokane. I have narrowed my search down to a Garrett Ace 250 or 350.  The jury is still out on which one to get.  The 350 is slightly above budget but doable.

So far I have learned a ton from this forum, so thank you.

Welcome from Arizona.   You might consider the Ace 250 + an extra coil of a different size (for instance a "sniper" coil.  You sacrifice depth with one of those small coils, but you get closer to barriers such as fences and bushes as well as maneuver through trashy areas a bit more easily).

Thank you Arizona and Oregon. I will let you know when I decide on what detector.  I am probably going to purchase from Kellyco. I haven't seen anything negative about them yet.

Well I pulled the trigger. Ended up buying a Garrett Ace 350 from Kellyco. Used their BOGO deal and got my partner a Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505 for 50% off for my partner. Already purchased a Bounty Hunter Junior for our 10 year old a few weeks ago. He will be getting that for his birthday in early June. Going to make this a family hobby.  Can't wait to get our new toys in the mail.   Smiley  Detecting
