Want one!

Hi all, Just tumbled here by mistake but looks a great site.
I am desperately wanting to buy a metal detector for my birthday (at my age you buy your own presents!) BUT have no idea what to get.
I want a good one (don't we all) dont want to spend too much but want "bang for the buck" (or euro in my case).
Have been attracted by the Garrett 250 but is it ENOUGH??? Any others I should consider - I am a newbie , be gentle!
Help - before my wife gets mad at me looking at reviews etc of ME's.
I will mostly be looking for coins and relics (surrounded by history here!) and anything else interesting. Love a "search".
cheers everyone.

Hi Tocanepauli,

Welcome on board, One French guy more on this site, very great because they was not a lot....

For all your detector depends on what you want to do, as the price you want to save to buy it.

I had a Ace250 to start but you have to turn quickly, and after a year I have sold.

Luc

Welcome from Australia. You could do a lot worse than the Ace250, a fine machine for the money. It's on my list of detectors to buy.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Welcome to our site! Depending on your budget I would recommend buying a ADX 250 from XP metal detectors (a French company). XP metal detectors are very neat both for teh beginner and pro. Let us know what you decide to buy yourself as a present. Hope you will enjoy this fantastic new hobby!

best wishes,

Christian
