I am new to the metal detecting hobby and intend to use more as an exercise regimen.
I live in Nogales, Arizona and recently retired and trying to find someting to do before going crazy around the house.

Welcome from New Mexico!   Hunt along the old Rail system that went from Douglas to there.

Nothing but Rail bed these days.  They had Whistle Stops about every 7 miles.   You can find them with gOOgle.

Border Patrol will pester you most well about every hour or so.

Mind the Cartel ass holes , there there. There Here There Every Were now.

Nogales being a border Twin town, you have all kinds of stuff going on and I'm sure you know about.

Here In Deming 35 miles from the line, we have things going on that would make some peoples toes curl.

I have a friend living in Saffard and Hunts down there all the time.

Douglas is good and lots of old miltary sites to play with.

Just before 1917 old Gen Pershing had all sorts of stuff going on around there and here.

We had the First Air Plan used by the Military in a act of War.

Chasing ol Poncho they was.

Welcome to the Clan!

Camp Cody! Named after Buffalo Bill.    2 miles from my house.  Operated during the Poncho thing up to and including WW1.

30,000 troops train in Artillery here and shipped out.  1918 the Spanish Flue hit and they burned everything and all.

Uniforms , pocket full can be found in the dump/burn sites if you know were to look.

Sad, Sad!

The Damn Flue killed almost as many folks as that was sent to France .

Hey, patrick.......welcome from up the road in the Phoenix area....homefire is sure right about a whole lot of history taking place between where he hunts in southwestern New Mexico and where you live in Arizona (and a bit north and west).  Just make sure your careful out there, especially out away from civilization.   plenty of dangers of all kinds to look out for (but also plenty of treasures of all kinds to be found).
