I am assuming you are talking about a Discovery Gold Trax detector. If so that is a great machine. $729.95 worth.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

Hey Dusty, yeah, that's the one, got it quite a while ago for $250, today I tested it with gold and silver and nothing, it did give a signal on the power supply to my motorhome, but I think it was the electricity it registered, not the metal. I've been reading all the test reviews and the manual as well, and none of the setting I used seem to make a difference. Part of it is working tho, when I turn it on, I can cancel out that loud hi tone by pushing the mode select to the left, but it won't make tone on the gold or silver, seems strange, and I don't understand it.

GW,
Well, that's a start. Doesn't sound too complicated yet.

Homefire, yes, I tried all kinds of settings on it, get tone on the power cable, likely from the electric flow, but nothing on the gold and silver. I didn't get the faintest response on anything else, even solid iron and steel that I have here.

Now I remember.........I posted a welcome to the forum but my internet bombed out for a change (dose this in the evenings) so welcome to the forum GoldWolfen. I was thinking that if you could post some photos of the PCB top and bottom we could have a look at it, ya just never know we may be able to notice something.

Thanks for the welcome Xavier, I'd like to send pix of it, but my camera died and don't work either.

LOL the detector lasted 12 years, the camera about 3 months, and I just pulled the heads on the ramcharger, the intake valves left grooves on the pistons, don't know what to do with that either, pulled the cam, and the vendor says they don't have record of my purchase, a likely story.
