Hello everyone,
New here from northwestern Pennsylvania, got a metal detector today, never used one before. So I'm really new to all this. I read alot about metal detectors before I bought one, and I'm haveing second thoughts about the one I purchased already. I just got it out of the box. Bought a Treasure Hunter Md 3030, thinking I might have spent more money, to get a better one. Anyone have any thing to say about this model. Really like this site, thanks to all who keep it going.  Hambone1949

Hi Hambone.... I'm in the same boat as you. One of these days I'm gonna grab 2 brews from the cart, jump the emergency slide!!! Grin
I'm in Ct but have hunted WPa for many moons!  Maybe you can get some time in at Conneaut Lake Park. Not sure they allow detecting there but the place is mostly empty. Whoops... just learned it is open again....
Can't comment on your detector as I am not familiar with it.

Jim

Hey,

I know I am not the only new guy here and that kind of makes me feel good.

I am out in New Mexico where Billy the Kid rode. The place has a lot of history but some strange rules for THunting.

Hope to see you around the site and help where I can.

I am 64 and new the this kind of thing too.

Later,

Roy

Hello HB1949  and  Welcome to the Forum . All you can do is practice and learn to set the sensitivity and discrimination properly . If your MD-3030 has the pinpoint button , use it !! And after you locate some real good finds you can upgrade later to a name brand metal detector like Whites or Tesoro . Best of luck

HH............Eugene
