My username is seaquer.  I live in metro Boston and newly retired.

I had used a Heathkit and a Micron ta(?) before getting a White's.  Just added a pointer.

I think that beaches have been well cleaned in my area.  Occasionally I will find a small area not hunted for several months or more based upon the corrosion of the clad.  I can find several coins together then nothing for a hundred feet.  Is that your experience too or am I assuming incorrectly.

Hello seaquer.....welcome to THunting.com.   The nice thing about hunting beaches is that they are always being replentished.   Sometimes by sunbathers, swimmers, and beachcombers losing stuff and sometimes by storm either uncovering stuff you couldn't reach before or by washing in new stuff.   Get yourself over to our beach and shallow water board and "wade" through the topics there.   Then go out and practice what you read.....slow down your search and work a pattern.....you'll probably find yourself changing your tune before too long.

You're doing it right, mate. Bear in mind that despite the upcoming cold weather, the beaches erode a bit over winter and it can be the best time of year for deeper, older stuff.

Up your way, even the woods are full of history and old battlefields. You have a lot of country to cover.
