Nice place ya got here. Found it while poking around on Google. Been messing with metal detecting for around 20 years. First machine was a used Garrett Master Hunter. The old heavy bulky aluminum model with way too many knobs & gadjets for a newbie to ever figure out. Had a few others since then and currently use a Garrett GTAx1250. Mosty dig dirt looking for old coins since my main interest is coin collecting. Looking forward to becoming a regular here.

Welcome the forums!! Hope that you enjoy your stay here and find all that you need!!

Ah, coinshooting.  I love finding those old silvers and coppers.  I hope to pop a goldie out of the ground sometime.  Now that would be a lovely find!! Good luck!!

Thanks guys. Oldest coin so far is an 1818 80 Reis from Brazil. Large copper coin about the size of a large cent. Found in a local park that was used as a fairground & muster field for the last 200 years. I've found Civil War vintage 3 ring bullets there as well so the soldiers getting ready to head south must have done some target shooting there. My area dates back to the early 1700s so there are some really old finds made here fairly regularly. My house was built in the late 1700s but I guess the old farmers were too poor to lose anything of value. All I've ever found here if rusty farm junk.
