Hey everyone and thanks for having me. I am new to treasure hunting and was wondering if anyone could help me out at getting started. I do have some experience from geocaching and playing around with a metal detector but don't  really know where to find leads. Any help with pinging me in the right direction for finding leads in southern ontario would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for having me :-)

Howdy, Soapy.   Welcome from Arizona.   The best place to start (other than your own home and neighborhood) is the library....read the old newspapers and the local histories written by the old timers.   If you search through our beginners section, you'll find lots of tips on how to search and what type of placeds to look for.   In a nutshell, you want to identify the places where people exchanged money or where they may have lost money (or other items) or where people gathered to have fun.   Think of places like swimming holes, fishing holes, fairgrounds, old parks, etc.  Also when you're reading the old newspapers and books look for stories about people who either came into a lot of money suddenly or lost money suddenly.  Also fires, robberies, etc.
