Hi all, The one on the left looks quite different to any buckles i have found before. It is not symetrical like most ive seen. has anyone else found a buckle like this before and what would its age be roughly. It has little grooves around it and probably looked pretty when it was made. It looks very old to me but im not very good with ageing items where as this site is brill for getting other peoples thoughts.  Great  Cheers. Lee   Detecting

Hi,

the buckle at the left is dated in the 13th century. It seems that here in south germany they are more common because it?s a not very seldom design.
