Ram, the NTE909D is supposed to be a replacement for the UA709. According to the datasheet , the center pins are used. I know it looks like crap!.

I used the 709c it is a 14 pin so I cut the IC in an 8 pin if you like I can post a photo of it.

741 dose not work I tried it use 709 or 709c the funny thing is that the 709c is about half the price of the 709 over here in SA anyway.

               In relation to the agreed according to the type used in small pcb
               if BC type it is no error. no in big pcb depend on BC  OR 2N !!.

Click .Click ...Click ... My DPB is now working thanks to Japanese and Xavier , you both were right ..   R30 was wrong and MPSA14 was ass-backwards. Ram, you checked the far right transistor on my board is it also in backwards? I now have to set the Freq. with counter to 90hz is that right? its working , but I only get about 4-5 inches.. I know the batteries are dying.. thanks again
