Hello Nightjar

Its always great to see the average guy get a break like that. I only hope that the large mining companies do not muscle in and try to claim it.

Once again fantastic story.

I have a few treasure stories I found that fellow Aussies may find interesting. I will post them in the Australia topic on the week end if I get time.

Hardluck

One question...so you come across something like that while on a hunt.....WHERE THE HELL DO YOU PUT IT while you still have to break camp and hit the road??? !!!
I think a few cans of black and brown spray paint might be the answer. A quick spray and leave it near your car door in the bushes. Funny

Great find Great

I think that just might be the best idea I've heard for a while. Seriously that is brilliant.

Most of the country we detect in is so remote you can detect for weeks on end and never see another sole. So the gold we find is left in our unlocked vehicle, have never heard of anyone ever being robbed in Outback Australia.
Unfortunately this is not true when you return to suburbia amongst the dead heads who will never work a day in their life and survive on a life of crime in between the the light jail sentences handed out in our courts.
Australia as we knew it has gone, back in the 70's, keys were left in ignitions, when you went on holidays you didn't even lock your house, your neighbours dropped by to feed and care for your animals.
