Go Up Go Down

My wife and I got away for a couple hours to the East Fork of the San Gabrial river to do a little panning.Well I found a real sweet spot that was just giving up the gold. We do good drywashing in the desert but hardly ever do good in these So-Cal streams. we were getting lots of flakes in almost every pan. We panned till the sun went down then hiked out in the dark.I'll post some pics of some of the pans we were getting and when I finish processing all my cons I'll post my vial. Lots of fine gold so I have to be very careful, maybe the time to buy a blue bowl. Thanks for looking.  Mike

Thanks for looking guys. you won't believe this but I won't be able to get back there for a couple of months so I gave up the spot on the gpaa forum. I'm planning to spend some time in Quartzsite AZ hoping to put my detector over a nice nugget and enjoy the huge swapmeet. One good rain and you won't be able to cross the river, last year 4 people were swept away and drowned so it will be late spring when you will be able to cross. I figured out one of the 2 layers that contain gold so I feel good about returning late spring and working it. There is an ancient terisary stream on the mountain side above that is rumored to be feeding the gold down the mountain. We are planning to try and climb or rappel from the road above to it and detect it .Anybody on this forum from So-Cal that wants the spot pm me and I'll give you directions.   Moondog

I know a spot 60 miles from here sorta like that.

If you dig were everyone else is digging you find Color and a few bits.

If you Dig about 10 inches above that it kicks butt.

They just shovel down to the stuff there after chucking the good stuff down hill.   LOL

Those are some good looking pickers in the pictures Mike.
It is always satisfying to see sweet gold in the pan after
the hard work. Good Job and congrats.    Gold Nuggets  Smiley

If Gold is where you find it, then I need to start looking somewhere else.
