CD sounds like you need something along the lines of a Drop Box or an Ozzie Beach Box.  Screen your material to about 20 mesh and run it thru and the gold should collect in the slots.  The Drop Box would the easier to build, just cut ½" wide slots  with a dado blade or a ½" rabbit bit in a router about 5/8" deep across and about 3"s apart on the lower 18"s of a 1" X 8" X 2½'L piece of lumber.  Put 3" sides on it then seal it real good and paint it black, glue 6" of ribbed matting to the area just before the first drop and there you have a Drop Riffle Box.  Run the water thru it fast enough to keep the light stuff moving but enough to flush the good stuff out.
