I'm just going to read them online instead of getting the mag.

As a subscriber and reader for years now of lost treasure I have accumulated many many issues that I keep in reference binders.  There is quite a bit of information in the mags and they are quite fun to read. Grin

I heard about LostTreasure and then thought I'd give her a try and then did and liked it but then was getting too exspensive.

Lost Treasure magazine has a well-read columnist, a master Metal Detectorist, Andy Sabisch.  Formerly called Treasure Facts, it is now folded into the LT publication.

I've been honored to have been the recipient of not 1 but TWO favorable book reviews by his nibs.  The first one appeared in Treasure Facts June 1995, and the second, his latest review in Lost Treasure May 2003.

Both are produced below, by written permission granted by the publisher, John Housley.

Judging from the way the office phone rang off the wall as the result of both favorable reviews by master THunter Sabisch, I KNOW this LT mag is well read and highly regarded by those in the trade as well as hobbyists alike.

Furthermore, they re-run the 1995 one as "Tip of the Day" via eMail notice to those who are registered via their website, whether or not the email name is a current subscriber.

And they have a very sharp FEMALE lady editor. Grin

I owe a a great deal to LT and Mr. Sabisch, who have undoubtedly proven and legitimatized my claims of LOW COST acquisition and harvesting of precious metals which are above ground, discarded, and very very cheap.

Andy still has a small website where he keeps in touch with MD'ers all over the country.  You may have to wait a couple weeks for him to answer, but he never drops the ball.  If you have trouble finding Andy's website, I'll come back and post a link if you like.

He's a great guy, and has the privilege of teaching his eldest son what he knows about MD'ing, so there's a small Sabisch "Dynasty" thing going here.  This dynasty will assure generations to come of further tips and tricks of the trade from the younger Sabisch.

I don't know of a more knowledgeable, or finer person in this business than, Andy Sabish. It must truly be an honor to have a review of your work published by him in LT.

I remember the article. Thank you for sharing.  Dell

ClickTheYellowChick;  I remember reading your book years ago. My wife has it here somewhere in the house I think, or did I borrow one? THANKS for the reminder Grin

For you scrapers here is a little known fact. Before platinum was used and there was no demand for it, it was used to make fake sliver items. Platinum was also used to make fake gold nuggets and jewelry by adding a few other metals to yellow it. There are thousands of these platinum items world wide waiting to be unmasked for what they are, platinum with a little other base metals to change it's coloring.

silver candle stick = $20
fake silver, platinum, candle stick=$3600

gold nugget=$100
fake gold, platinum, nugget=$1600

Hello Megan,

a very good article thanks for sharing it with us!

Didn't Andy Sabish run the onlinether.com website a few years ago?

Do you happen to have the URL for his current website?

I would love to check it out.

Sincerly,

Christian

Andy Sabisch's current storefront

It is basically just a portal so folks can find him and communicate with him.  Please tell him, I said "Hello."   He's based in North Carolina last I eMailed with him.

I also understand he has out a dynamite book on using the Minelab Quattro.

If a site states they don't have it in stock, so you might as well buy it straight from Andy, right?  Grin   Amazon doesn't even have any listed for sale, period, which is a testimony to how the TH'er crowd hangs on to their books, yes?  Didn't check "half.com" for any copies.

PLUS...
here's one of Andy's on mastering advance water working techniques:
