Go Up Go Down

So I went out and bought myself a new jeep, a beautiful forest green and black job with mag wheels.
Dean having been in the Army when they had real jeeps, wanted to "giv'er a go" and see how well the new jeeps could perform.
All that day, Dean, myself and a friend played in the offroad with it.  Fianlly Dean saw one more obstacle he wanted to traverse--Hence my own sunken treasure! :-/

Thanks for a fun day Dean--PS, my heater is still spewing clay at me!

Matthew

Oh crap!!! had it been a REAL jeep I would have gotten a ride to the mess and had a fewbeers while the "sproges" sorted it out!!!!!!!

Crap..rule number1

alway sink an airforce jeep

rule two, always know where the closest beers can be had and sink the jeep close to there.

rule 3, he was an Air Force Officer so he wasn't humun..so who cares!!

rule 4..it was a new jeep. it had to be broken in

rule 5..he let me drive@!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His mistake

rule whatever..Hell I did it...the only clean spot was where I was sitting... I distroyed my last pair of pointy Beatle boots doing it..beatle boots are worth far more than a jeep anyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dean,
Just so the lads can see the kind of jeep you're used to using--106mm recoiless anti tank rifle Huh?.

One question though Dean, was this picture taken after the beers?

I think the 106 is one of the few weapons you don't want to play with while drinking..it's dangrous enough when sober.

Go Up Go Down

hi all,
first post.  probably the wrong section but anyway, the article re lake toplitz "Secrets of an Austrian Lake" brought back memories. in 1967 I was asked by a tourist if I could dive and look for his expensive camera he'd lost from the tourist boat on the lake. i didn't find it because there's a lot of silt. I did get bailed up by a gendarm who gave me a stern warning not to (free) dive in the lake again. I was 17 and didn't take it too serious and went in again a week later and no one said anything. I grew up about 20 km from Toplitzsee (Lake Toplitz) and whilst doing my apprenticeship I happened to be working in the local Buergermeister's (mayor's) living room when I saw a kind of certificate on the wall.  It read "Unternehmen Toplitzsee" (Operation Lake Toplitz). I couldn't finish reading as the Mayor told me not to be nosey and scoot. I always wondered if the diving ban has more to do with keeping things the way they are and less with diving safety concerns or treasure. I went back there in 2004 and really appreciated the natural beauty of that location. cheers HH

Hello Markai!

Isn't it amazing how small the world is at times? I would not expected to ever meet somebody from Australia who had been diving at Lake Toplitz many many years ago! Well, but here we go!

To my knowledge it i still forbidden to dive at Lake Toplitz nowadays. I remember faintly having read a report on it some time ago in a German treasure hunting magazine. It also contained pictures of artififacts that have been salvaged from the ground of the lake.

I will try to find the article and post some of pictures here.

Regards,

Christian
