Hello Everyone . It would be nice to see this topic open up , many are already interested like me !!
It might be just a matter of a SSD file viewer / converter to get this topic flying [underwater] .

HH.............Eugene

I don't think there is one. The files are created by Microsoft PowerPoint as a web based Slide Show. Hence the SSD name. Even PowerPoint can't reverse the files. Probably built in by Microsoft.

I did not know they were a slide show . Because I can remember Power-point format being mentioned in the office [at work] as the new "work orders" that we were all suppose to learn and I guess I never did  Shocked . But it is cool to open a new file format especially if it helps the forum here . Just a few months ago someone on the forum posted some fuzzy maps that never got opened correctly , a DJVU file  ? !! So I just remembered something I forgot to do here , open those maps and re-post !!

Best Regards...........Eugene

I for one would be more than interested in having one.

All the best

 I agree   Cool

Is that what you get with a quality modern fish finder?

Almost. A fish finder looks straight down. A side scan sonar looks left and right but also records it against time during a travel from point A to point B. It's a target over a period of time recording. You start at one point and move the boat of the sonar over a stretch of water. As you move, the motion is accurately recorded and the sonar grabs images along the way storing them for later analysis, or, in the case of the more expensive models - in real time.

Are there any schematics that you know of that are worth while looking at?

I don't know of any, Xavier. It's a technology that costs more than it's worth for treasure hunting. Not enough definition for smallish targets. You could find a boat or plane but not an anchor or cannon.

Hello Guys, GD I think you will find that modern fish finders use side scan sonar, and you can make out items such as cannon. Its like a map of the sea floor.
