If anybody has done any reasearch on treasure in SC you may know about Asa Smyth and his keg o gold that was lost back in 1859.Anyway,I was wondering...Oro? Smiley...if anyone might know where the Hopkins Mine used to be at in West Springs SC?I've searched and search all over the net and have yet found anything about the whereabouts of this mine. You guess it changed names and no record of it was recorded?I just know it was supposed to have been reworked for 'lil bit in the 1930s,but they only got in about 100ft and figured it was just too much overburden to remove and also the chances of other cave-ins were almost certain.Any info would be greatly appreciated.I mean how beautiful would a nail keg 1/2 full of the yellar stuff would be Grin
