I had a Head Hunter PI about 10 years ago, it was a fine working detector, and though it got wet from using it in the rain several times, I never had a leak problem with it and it always was reliable. I sold it when I went to a deeper seeking PI.

Eugene52- and about the water leaks, over 90 percent are caused by the user not following instructions of giving the sealing  "O" rings a light coat of silicone grease, takes about 30 seconds, and $3.00 grease will probably last 40 years.
Have had many talks with Gary Storm the man that engineered and designed the Detector Pros, they  are just coincidentally(by what I am told) the same frequency, i guess the circuits are different, he tells me he engineered these from the ground up, and incidentilly he is the one that designed and engineered the Minelab Excalibur for Minelab,  the guy knows what he is doing with electronics from what i have been told, and is a great guy to talk with, the warrantys on DP products is first class if anyone needs any work done. I am impressed with them, and probably like them better than any detectors I have ever had, (have probably had 80  or 90 since 1975),  but i use bout anything that will make a beeping sound, where I live is not conducive for water detecting or diving, not enough water to hardly get you feet wet, but if there was i'd be there, bout 50 yr ago did snorkle quite a bit in the south china sea, ( i think that's what the name was-near the Phillipines anyway)
i just got the wader and cant wait to try it out.   where can i get the silicone grease?  thanks jamie Smiley

Hello,

You can get silicon grease from Radio Shack,  any electronics shop or hardware store.  I'm surprised it didn't come with the unit.  The stuff will come inside a squeeze tube like tooth paste.

Sometimes it whitish clear or solid white in color.  If you have trouble finding it I can send you a tube..

Kenny

This is the O-Ring lube I would suggest.  Dow Corning 111.  It is thicker than just silicone lube and is used on seals for under water cameras and the like.

Had two Divers and one Wader, still have it. Bought used years ago. One out of three didn't have problems when bought. They had to be shipped to Dpro for fixing, crossover wire and supposed crack in the ear cups. Wader also needed retuning. Fast turn around time.
For the money Paid used, and  the repair costs were still cheaper than buying one new.

Excellent all around machine, can't claim them to be depth demons but, they get the job done. Work equally well on land as in the water. Dug loads of coins at local schoolyards this year after having the Wader in storage for 5 years.
