Snakes never stop growing thru their lives and usually shy away from humans, only attacking when startled or threatened. We do get king cobras about 15-16 feet long in Borneo. When one of those raises its head and spreads its hood, it can tower over a Toyota Hilux.

One other thought seeing that picture....

Boots...  and  purses....   That hide would make a few pair and a dandy purse or two...

You could herd these guys and make a killin...  That is if they didn't kill you first....

Get the DNA from that Snake and see if it's different or just old..

I've only seen one in the wild and that one came out of the dunes at the beach, wandered around a little and then went back to the dunes. It left me alone so I did likewise. We kept an eye on each other. A close eye.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I have seen how big those kingCobra's can get recently with a hood much bigger then a man head and thick as a your thy.

However I understand they are very smart and rarely strike.

Our snakes are another matter, and its always a major distraction when out in the bush doing anything let alone waving a coil around.  Even now when winter is close they are still around here in Canberra. Friends of ours have had several large Brown Snakes out on this property lawn over the last couple of weeks. I have even seen copperheads out in the snow line in the mountains during winter.

Good high style country boots are the ticket or gaters.  Rider

most of snakes are not aggressive, but not the one in our place, we call it banakon, many people died with this local snake. while other snake like cobra runs when they saw people but this snake when you see them you will surely run. im not so sure of its scientific name or other names, im  just sure that many local in the philippines, particularly in  davao region, afraid of it.

Thats a truly amazing Picture and looks like something out of a horror movie.

Whilst its nothing my 12g Coachie won't handle, I'm sure hoping I never have to deal with anything that big.

Why the hell anything that ugly and dangerous has to grow so big, I just don't know.

Around our neck of the woods  we have Copperheads, Watermoccasins, Cottonmouths ( yes there is a difference)
They are definitely territorial , and WILL come and get you.
I haven't had the pleasure of meeting a rattler on this side of the glass, thank God.
