First time out today and went to the beach...got 3 pennies and a quarter, oh and some other round metal thingie.  Tons of fun!

That's not bad for a first day out.......and if that round "thingie" has a whole through it like it looks like it does, it's probably the fitting for a grease or oil gun

I've discovered that I like the beach much better than the soil.  Just laziness I guess.  I need to construct some type of mesh sieve to filter the sand once I've located a target.  Maybe one half chicken wire size.

In that case, THunting to the rescue---do a search of the entire forum using the search box at the top right.   You'll find plenty of discussion about what constitutes a "good" beach scoop and plenty of pictures of ones designed and built by members.
