Hi folks. I recently recovered what otherwise was a beautiful brass picture pendant with a religious theme. I consider it a relic for it shows that it has been buried for many years and of course nature has worked its effects on it. But for me it's a keeper!

Hurah I envy you.  I once found a picture in a gold leaf frame with a photo of a gentleman sitting on a chair with top hat and cane etc but unfortunately it dissapeared before my very eyes once the sun hit it after being buried in mud for a 80 years.

Thanks. I did not exactly knoe how to call it.  Great
So I was kindly corrected. I found a seemingly old religious locket. Thanks!
Wow that was incredible. So, gone with the sun!  Cry

Ok folks I am learning as I find more info about my finds. My recent find in a Chicago park is not a pendant but a religious slide locket. It was not made from brass, but rather with a heavy coat of copper plating and an antique-wash to bring out the exquisite details. This style is from the 1930's - 40's. It is not too valuable in its actual conditions, but its an interesting piece nonetheless!

That's a beautiful find.
I really like that!
I remember having a picture like that (full size!) on my bedroom wall when I was probably 5 or 6 years old.
Brings back some real nice memories.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, for sure that many of us have seen similar pictures in our homes. I was raised Catholic and some friends believe that such a find is a blessing. I think so too! Lovely addition to my collection of relics.

Thanks! Isn't it lovely even after so many years exposed to the elements! Amazing!
