Any of you Tesoro swingers know of a way you can get more depth from a DeLeon?  I have a chance to go to a site of a 1800's farm. The site is now a plowed field, and I am sure the good stuff is very deep. Any suggestions would be appreciated.... Thanks, HJ....

The biggest killer of good depth is speed. Slow down your sweeps and use tone discrimination if you have it. Painfully slow is what you need. So slow you think you'll never get to the end of the corn row. Then listen to ever so faint signals and dig them all.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

That most likely is my biggest problem. I can't slow down my swing, but I will. I haven't had the chance to go to many old sites, so I will slow down and take advantage of it. HJ

Your detector is working very hard and very fast inside the box but your sweep can make all that hard work irrelevant. Slow down to a crawl and listen for those very faint signals. Those will be the true treasures. The first time you find a real good one will be the last time you "can't slow down" your swing.

I had a fellow locally to tell that I should not only slow the motion across the the ground, but also use all metal mode since the DeLeon does not have multiple tones. He says dig those faint all metal tones. What do you think.

I have A Tesoro and have found that by increasing sensitivity and backing off on descrimination seems to give me good signals to about 14-18 inches. If the soil is wet, the signal changes and is not very reliable. Good Luck!
