Go Up Go Down

I knocked on the Reverund's door around 8:30. He remembered me and said go ahead, knock yourself out. Three hunts here with multiple silver on each hunt. See the pic showing how ugly the silver is coming out of this Hellacious Churchyard. It's very acidic soil with some Memorials almost as thin as dimes. Not sure why it eats em up. Had to do alittle electrolysis to somewhat bring em back. Also five garbage wheats. Crazy day with having to do two detector repairs. First my coil connector was wobbly and shorting out. Went home took it apart and reinsulated the connections with a glue gun. Put it all back together and went back for a couple more hours when the musky died on me again. I was done anyway. Came and now found one of the battery terminals pushed all the way inside the machine. Took it apart, resoldered the wire to the terminal and repaired the loose terminal. Good as new.

The notorious Musky! What kind of coil do you have on there that is giving you the trouble? I have the oval with the open center. Good finds anyway.

Peace

Sean

I use the TS800. Pretty much the best coil for the machine for all around hunting. Coil is fixed now. What aftermarket oval coil is the oval one?

Not after market. I have an old Sterling and it has the oval coil. I have been told they were notorious for being of shotty craftsmanship. I would like to get another coil... but that will be later.

Ah the Sterling Tribune. Have you done the super tune to it to get that little extra depth? Mines the Musketeer Advantage black box. Bought it used for $200 shipped. Love it.

Picked mine up at a pawn shop for $75. It just needed some soldering and it was good to go. I have not done the super tune yet as I have not had time. I am sure to do that soon... after I go play in the tot lot. It is hard to find used coils for these things, and the new coils are expensive!

Does'nt the TS coils work on the Sterling? If so, the TS800 is killer coil to get.

Yeah, all the musky coils work on the Sterling. I would like a TS800, but I will wait until I can get it used or something.
The coil I have is probably the worst coil available for the series... that will change.
