Nice finds.

Regarding your metal plate, the holes look too uniformly placed to be bullet holes. Check with a knife point to see if the holes are not filled with flaking corrosion or rust. That often happens when iron is buried for a long time. The holes fill up from all sides until the corrosion makes it seem solid again. A knife will reveal if it is just flakes of rust or solid iron.

hey gold  digger, I think you ay be right on the holes,,,, after inspecting the backside better, I think they did go through all the way at one time, any ideas on the arrow head or a good place to look them up, sure the metal sunk faster than the arrow head, just wondering about the age of the arrow head now  ,,,, thanks for your reply man!

Use Google Images to look up "Clovis Point" and see what you turn up.

Not Clovis.
More likely a preform.

Didn't say for sure it was Clovis but some of the early Clovis points look just like it. Exactly like it. Perfect match, in fact, but I left that discovery up to him. Isn't half the fun of this in the searching?

Just finding an arrowhead is one accomplishment in itself.
Just having fun while your'e out and bringing home something to talk about.
As far as the arrowhead it looking like Clovis material well the classic "point" has
well defined fluting and this specimen has none and exibits bi-point, inherant with
tool/knife or unfinished point.
A better/closer picture would help to establish a better idea and
not leave him with a maybe.       Wink
Till next time.
