Go Up Go Down

blacksnaster and I  went to a World War 1 camp today. I found a few interesting items. Main things a 1942 D mercury dime, a what appears to be a shrapnel shell casing minus the detonator head, and a horse shoe with nails. 3 inch O.D. and 8 3/8 inches long.

{alt}

Not sure blacksnaster if he confirmed it. But if I remember how it looks I think he found a 1936 Chevrolet radiator cap also some wheat cents. Could not make out the dates there.

Also found a geocache. I did not have a pen but went ahead and dropped a token I found earlier in the day for grins and set it back in place.

Cool Finds there.

Love that old Artillery Bit.

Electrolysis it and get some measurements on it.

It will be a little bit before I get to dump it in the electrolysis tank. Moving soon and already got that packed up in storage.
The measurements were up top in the first post. 3 inch O.D. and 8 3/8 inches long. If anybody has a better ID on it I'd appreciate it. The horse shoe I've been thinking about. It may be a mule shoe? Are the rounder then a normal horse shoe? It toes in pretty good toward the back.
