Go Up Go Down

I ran over to the local electronics's store yesterday to get some shop supplies during lunch time.  Being the tireless one track minded treasure hunting addict that I am, I commenced to getting permission to hunt silver coins around their loading door at the back of the store.  I have known head saleswoman for a decade now and she sure thought that I was zany for even bothering to dig around in the gravel back there.

I dug a few holes after loading antennas into my SUV and got only trash like stakon forks and an aluminum can.  She pretty much thought that I am a nutcase... which I just might be btw.

My friends, luck was on my side yesterday.  This picture was taken from ebay because my camera is broken but I assure you all that the piece that I found is just as beautiful as this one!  I found it in gravel surrounded by trash around the back of the store.  It was nowhere near the loading door or even any parking space for that matter.  I picked it up and tossed it into my pocket thinking that it was something that might have came off of the back pocket of a fancy pair of blue jeans from back in the 1980's.

While polishing off a couple of Wheaties that I also found in the store lot, I whipped out the bar and was amazed at the ease at which this piece sparkled after just a few strokes with a toothbrush and water.  Man, was I speechless when I read that it was a 1 ounce silver bar!

Although I have found a silver half dollar that is worth a little more, this bar is my coolest find to date!  Also, she is pretty happy about the twenty bucks that is coming to her after work tomorrow when I go to see if there are any more like that one back there!  I love paying the landowners because they always give me more spots to hunt.  This gal should be no exception!

Guys, I am super pumped up and have new energy from this find.  Today I ran over to my doctor's office to get a little help with poison ivy and guess where I went afterwards?  Straight to my hometown park where I commenced to find a 1964 silver dime along with a solid silver religious medal that is roughly four times heavier than the dime.  Add a couple more Wheaties to that and I am on a roll now baby!!!!!!!

        BLING BLING!!! Hello Detecting

Oh, wow. What a beauty!  Clapp. Did you use the BH Pioneer 505 for that job? Man, that's the kind of stuff that I always strive for. You know what? I love to find things that are different to the classic silver coins, wheaties, or old clad coins. Very nice man! Well done!  Great

Thanks man, the 505 with the 4 inch coil got that puppy!

Now that I have gotten the chance to use all three of their coils I think that I will write a review on the detector and it's coils.

I am feeling devious tonight so I brought my shops fluke scope meter home and am about to start tweaking my mpx.  I figure that I can learn with that unit before I start fiddling with my 505.  Also, my MPX was too sensitive so I tried to tweak it and now it just does not work quite as well.  Maybe it is just in my head because I swear that I put the pots back in the same spots that they were in before I started.  I guess I have to start tweaking sonner or later right?

I really want to try to get more sensitivity out of my 505 but have so little experience with detectors that I am afraid to touch my favorite unit.  I guess the MPX will be the guinea pig tonight!!

Good luck with your experiment. The 505 is a silver monster. I can't quit saying it!
