Thanks Johnnn

I have been looking on the net to see if I can find out more about it but nothing not a darn thing about it. If there was a date on it I would have been happy but now that is exactly what I'm looking for.

All the best
Xavier PS thanks for looking

Hello Smiley...What you have there my friend is a belt clasp, the cricket theme was very  popular during the 19th-20th century, they come in all shapes... oval, square, and retangular, quite unusuall the round one you have there.

whilst i was bored, yes yet another rainy day where i could not go out with the MD  Detecting. So I scanned the net to see if i could find your item, unfortunately i did not find an exact match, but did however find a very similar design (using the cricket bats in a cross formation with two cricket balls and 1 set of stumps behind). I don't know if this is related to your find but its the closest design i could trace.

Hi Lord Dracon

Thanks for trying to find my clasp, it's that we have been looking for it but have not found it yet. Do you not think that it was made in SA and was only used in SA  and therefore was not catalogued in EU? I sure would like to find it and know from when it was.

All the best
Xavier

I see there is a cricket museum in Port Elizabeth, i don't know how far it's away from where your at? but it might be worth getting into contact with and/or sending a picture or two of your find to the curator.. he may be able to help identify it? .. then again maybe not

here is a link to the museum :   http://www.stgeorgespark.nmmu.ac.za/content/cricketmuseum/displayarticle.asp?artid=mus_001

Again .. all the best .. i hope you find what your looking for =)
