Go Up Go Down

Hello THunting May be a few days late for this category but I have to start somewhere.Seven inchs of snow melted down this past week I was able to get a chance in the frozen old camp near some 1800's homes. Found some cool relics ,buttons ..even some of the buttons have snowflakes on them :Smiley First coin for 2010 was a 1797 LC .Second hunt ,I was lucky enough to pry three more out of the muddy dirt.1860 Indian ,1848 or 9 large cent ,and a 1858 frozen flying eagle, iron wagon parts some newer junk then a nice .58 musketball with a gun flint above ground nearby .Third hour hunt ,found a buckle ,some horse tack ,more junk ,horseshoes .My area is getting hammered with a major snowstorm as I type this thread .Two foot  this time!!Yikes  Bang Head Hope you enjoy and Thanks for checking in ,  Mike CMD

Nice finds there! That looks like a fun area. Is that your first time hunting that site?

Know what you mean about winter weather although this year has been mild for our area. Just getting wimpy in my old age   Grin

Grin Wimpy ..old age is nothing for us buzzards when you can get some diggin " in .Tough part is the research for myself. I have hunted the stage stop quite a few times.Just found out in Dec.,09 that a Union cavalry stayed next door maybe 300 yards from where the ruins of this 1800  stage stop building is located . Was able to get out there two times before the Major storms hit. Now that is all I think about. SJ had two more inches today ..West of us had 8 .This should be the spot were I can get a 26 NJ Volunteers button .A few finds from a trash pit at the outpost site.  Thanks for your interest Idaho    Mike

Those are some nice relics and coins you found, could be some half dimes etc. at that site. The pipe looks identical to one I found, broken at the same spot. I wonder if someone was making them and selling the same in mass. What's the 55 chevy look like? Have a good day.......John in Virginia
