Thought I already posted this but it did't work. I think I found a small 1 1/2 " cannon ball in my garden. It is cast iron and about the right size for grape shot. I don't know much about war relics. Going to take it to the Historical Society. I live in Baltimore we have had a couple 1814 battles here, Ft McHenry and The Battle of North Point.  This is exciting.

I have heard that your own backyard is a great place to find stuff!  The best finds in mine are the ones that I planted for my test garden!  lol

In my yard I have found a half of a silver ladies pocket watch, beads, small glass bottles and a rose embossed Sash brooch made out of I think brass. No old coins. Just the ones the kids lost from using the trampoline!
