found this button old home site had 3 houses 1 well house and cemetary, head stones dated 1804-1860, looked up the button says its era is 1830-1843! back says wadhams.co. superfine... dont know the value of it . and i guess obviously not civil war since it was befor civil war but i guess it could of been lost then not sure. still old! my oldest find not bad since ive only been detecting for a yr.

That's a 'Sporting' button,  popular on hunting and outdoor apparel in the 19th Century,
 very cool find, there are many varieties, my favorite is one i dug with a fox head.
