Hi All,
I was invited to detect an oldish house today, as I'm not at my relic sites till fall thought I'd give this place a look over.
Found a bunch of stuff ...46 coins nothing special two small pad locks some hardware of an old set of draws thatwere probably burned at the spot where I found them a couple of toys, two fired shotgun shell bases "now thats hard to fathom" being right in town and a BONUS as there was a cherry tree laden with fruit so I got my fill and took some home for the missus.

Seems when you find one shotgun shell, there is another near by.  Were double barrels cheap back in the '30's?  Seems everyone had one in those days.

Hi Joe,
I,m not a 'shooter" myself but you are right sometimes there are two shell casings at the same spot, and that would have to be a double barrel gun I cant see "Bambi" waiting around for you to reload and try again..
In my 1908 "sears Roebuck" catalog you can buy a "new England Hammerles" double barrel shotgun for $11.95 and ......all the way up to $38.50.
That would probably have been a lot of money back then .........HH......Johnnn

Wow!  I mean wow!  When I'm swinging my old BH I set it for cherries but I keep getting false hits on mushrooms.  I trust the pie was good.

Hi Jim R,
The cherries are never picked according to the house owner cant think why, but I sure filled up my fridge and I also found out if you part boil these you can puree them and freeze em Its all good Jim, and I didn't even need a ladder for these.
