Go Up Go Down

Got permission a couple of days a go to hunt a town park in a area that's has 2 water powered mills dates back to the 1600s. As of now my detecting buddy and myself found 1943,  1944, 1944s quarters - 1 1953 , 1939 , 1938 dime and a few wheat's now here is my problem I also found 3 coin shaped object  on one I see the letter "G " the other two I see nothing. The 3rd and 5th picture is about the size of a half dollar and the 4th picture is about the size of a quarter. The 1st two size of a nickel

nice finds, that should be a great area for you!  Need more info on the objects, Copper? brass? concave? flat? the one pic looks like an old button, another looks like an old large cent. show pics of both sides of each item with a quarter next to them for size comparison. I'm sure someone around here knows what they are.

I am going along with Avision4u on the possible large cent. It really looks like the
size. Beside the nickel I need a better close up if possible. Great finds their mate.ARR!

Just some wild guesses/possibilities. Gilded counterfeit coin, gilded coin (They some time did it to hinder people from shaving off silver coins. Kind of a tamper proofing for early coins. Can't remember a copper or brass one though other then medals. But this type coin/token is not my area of collecting.) , gilded store token, gilded medal.  Any time I see a "G' on coin I think George. But I don't think so on this one. There appears to be a "L" and a "T" between the folds also. You may be able to clear that up using a light at an angle.

Very interesting finds NYshooter.  The one looks like a coin that has been folded and maybe run over by a catepillar!  (I mean big earth machines!)  (Oh! Look! A worm ran over my coin and left inprints of its tiny little feet!  lol  Grin )  Good luck with identifying your strange pieces!  Detecting

Interesting finds , the one looks like a large cent, that other one is in such bad shape it may difficult to ID. Nice silver finds also, i would be back to that spot and hunt it real slow, Good Luck....DW
