Awesome finds! That's one thing I'm really looking forward to when I get my hands on a detector is finding old toys!

Great finds - where would everyone recommend a newbie to start for looking for items - ie, type of area, school, beach, parks, etc

Hi Sonya! I'm fairly new at this and I started at my local parks. I felt pretty comfortable learning my machine hunting around picnic areas and the ball fields. I then hit the elementary school, digging around the equipment in the woodchips. Lot's of practice and lot's of fun! Good luck with your hunting! Smiley

Hay Rich,

I am a tot lotter from Arkie Land.

I know tot lots.

Keep at those easy diggin spots.

It's tha high number of recoveries that

will tune yur ear. Easy digs = more digs.

I improved a whole lot one winter when

I decided to remove all tha shreaded

aluminum out of a wood chip tot lot.

It had tens of thousands of pieces

of aluminum and a few peices of gold.

But not no more.... lol

Tha real prise is what my ears learned,{alt}

That is what I was thinking - your ears must get used to certain sounds and you just know what you will dig up.  I haven't even tried my detector yet but that is what I am expecting to learn.  Can't wait till the weekend to try.
