Metal Cross 1830-1831 Also known as Cross Hasselt. Established by Royal Decree No. 1970 of September 12, 1831 and distributed to all those in the military operations in the years 1830 and 1831 participated. It is a bronze four-armed cross with a width of 29 millimeters. The obverse shows the crowned "W" in a wreath consisting of a branch of oak leaves (left) and a branch of laurel leaves (right). The flip side has the same ring where within the dates "1830-1831". On the arms of the cross is the text "LOYALTY TO / KING / EN / country" to read. The bronze cross was taken from a pair at the Battle of Hasselt (August 8, 1831) captured Belgian guns.

Thanks for sharing, Erik.   I think that is the first Cross Hasselt that I have seen.  I know I'm pretty sure it is also the oldest medal I've seen
