Hi all! Cleaning some of my finds from the 9/11 hunt, I'm glad to say that the pocket knife is still in good conditions and will be put back to work as my newly pocket knife companion. You never know when one is needed  Fight.

The second items cleaned were the two cuff-style copper bangles found among the trash that turned out to be treasure. Hopefully I did not make a mistake in cleaning two pieces of handmade jewelry that looked old.

Nice finds, Cyber. On the cleaning, I will let someone who knows something about that comment. I just know you need to be careful and not use something that will scratch the , I think it's called patena? or ? better let someone else comment.

Oh, no doubt about it that the original copper's patina is gone after cleaning the bangles with brasso. I once read about a lady who found a seemingly handmade bangle and turned out to be a "slave bracelet." Things like that happen when you don't know the origin or meaning of your find. For example, I'd not clean coins unless I learn that they are common. Thanks for looking!  Wink
