Go Up Go Down

Hit the park close to my house for about 2 hours.  We are on death watch for my daughters mouse, so she did not want to venture too far.

We did decent on clad coins.  The oldest coin was a 1965 quarter.  It isn't a very old park.  I have been getting a lot of copper pennies, and some of them deep.  Not sure if it was due to the park fill, or older coins lost during the park construction.

I got my new Lesche today so got to try it out.  I like it, it cuts really clean plugs.  Some of my plugs were almost impossible to see after replacing them.  I had to sharpen it up more but it worked out well.

We ended up with 89 cents and some pull tabs.  I am getting to know my machine better and getting better at guessing what I am going to dig up.  I got fooled a few times, but it is fun when you are right.  I am really liking my Tesoro.  I also turned my sensitivity down to 4-5 this hunt.  It worked much better around the trash.  I was still getting coins plenty deep, and several under tree roots.

I did break down and order a Killer B Stinger head set.  It is the one with a single ear phone.  I always seem to leave one phone off to hear better, especially when I am with my daughter.  Too many people approach me wanting to talk, and I hate not being able to hear.  I think these will work well.  Better quality than what I have now.

I put together a movie of our hunt and a screen capture of our finds.  This is too much fun!

Nice work. Both the video and your results on a modern park. What you call a staple is a tent peg.

I personally play a game with my detector regarding discrimination. Over time, your own ears and thoughts make better choices. I still tig every target - without exception - but play the game of which of us is better at discrimination. I usually win. I use my Tesoro Tiger Shark both on land and water these days. I'm still working on my ability to work this machine to the maximum of its capability.

Tell your daughter I am very sorry to hear about her mouse. My daughter used to keep mice when she was her age. They don't live long enough.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
