USMC Tie Clip WW2 and other stuff....

Here are some of the things I found today (Items in pic were found in my backyard).

I went all over the place today and have some other pics to post later. Found a 1964 Match Box car. Green "MG" made in England. It's in pieces, but I have most of the pieces. Looks like the person busted it and buried it. Found some other things I think are WW2 related but I still have to clean them up a little.

In the pics below are a WW2 USMC Tie Clip and a tag of unknown origin/use. The inscription on the inside of the tie clip reads "USMC APPD 235". The tag reads "Bucks County, Pa. 1942". The number on the tag is "5619". Not sure what it was a tag for, but it's old. I found another one about 2 feet away from it that was from 1929, but it crumbled in my hands when I was cleaning it...lesson learned. I was PISSED!!!  I'll post more pics later....

Really clueless as to what this is...? It's the size of a nickle and VERY heavy. On the front it obviously says BERLIN, but the back is kinda' broken up. The words I can make out spell "All YRDIKAT 6.M". Any thoughts/suggestions? Found it near the tie clip....

The "Berlin" object is a stamped/krimmped piece of lead. Could have been stamped for any number of reasons. At least I have an idea now of what it is...

The tag is an old dog tag.....

  Most likely it was used to "seal" a GI's foot locker or crate of personal possessions when he was transferring state side from Berlin.   Everything would have been inspected and then sealed with a security seal.   That would let customs know that the contents had not been tampered with between the time they were inspecting in Germany and the time they reached the United States.

I've seen more than a few of these seals used in different security applications during my life.


Actually this second url should give you a pretty good idea how it would have been used.
